In a general assembly celebrated last week at MC School auditorium, the new PTA members were elected by unanimous vote. The elected president, Altagracia Campos de Lagares, thanked everyone for depositing their trust in her, and her staff. She vowed to continue the great work that has been accomplished by the previous PTA presidents in contributing to creating an optimum educational environment for our children.
As the first order of business, new coordinators for every school were appointed. High School: Mrs. Nelly Rosario, Middle School: Mrs. Rosangel Morfa, Elementary: Mrs. Eliana Guerrero, and Preschool: Mr. Hector Arismendy.
PTA’s main job is to maintain informed classroom delegates and to coordinate different activities with teachers and delegates. Throughout the month, they will be holding meetings. Parents can get in touch with them through the classroom delegate. Mrs. Altagracia concluded reminding us that the PTA is the link between parents and school, therefore parents should feel free to contact any of them for suggestions or inquiries in benefit of MCSchool.

December 2009
On December 9th, we celebrated the Parents-Teachers Christmas Get Together at MC School. The school was decorated with motive from the 80’s. A giant screen displayed music videos from that era.
In an elegant set up containing tents, pine trees and poinsettias, we all had a great time, and enjoyed the evening sharing with friends. An exquisite banquet was prepared. The PTA specially recognizes the job of all the maintenance, security and cleaning personnel. They prepared Christmas baskets containing goods for each one of them, they also had surprise prize that consisted of a washing machine and a stove top. This was in recognition of their valuable job with the children. The PTA Celebration Committee did an outstanding job organizing this magnificent event. Congratulations! Special gratitude to Mrs. Gina Suárez for helping out with the decorations. Our best wishes this Christmas with the fraternity feeling flowing in the air.

The first culinary course in Japanese food (including sushi) took place at our school last Saturday. It was a great accomplishment for us to offer this course together with the JAICA Association. There were 40 participants. We have placed a manual and a DVD at the library for those interested in the course. We had a great time preparing new recipes and tasting the delicious plates we prepared. Congratulations for such a successful course!
